Clinical Supervision for Residents in Counseling
For Virginia LPC and LMFT Residents
Supervision for Residents in Counseling
As a board-approved LPC supervisor in Virginia, I provide clinical supervision for Residents in Counseling pursuing LPC licensure. I also offer supervision for LMFT Residents completing their 100 required hours under an LPC supervisor.
My approach to supervision is collaborative, developmental, and grounded in curiosity and reflection. I view supervision as both a space to grow your clinical skills and to explore your identity as a therapist.
My goal as a supervisor is to create a space where you feel both supported and challenged, with guidance that’s thoughtful, trauma-informed, and reflective of who you are as a clinician.
What Supervision with Me Looks Like
Our work together will be collaborative, supportive, and growth-oriented. I strive to create a space where you feel safe bringing your challenges, questions, and uncertainties because that’s where meaningful learning happens.
Supervision is offered both virtually and/or in person. Sessions are provided weekly, in compliance with Virginia Board of Counseling requirements.
Frequency: Minimum 1 hour per week (for every 40 client contact hours)
Maximum: Up to 4 hours per week
Accelerated Path: For those aiming to complete residency in two years, I can provide 2 hours per week of supervision
My Approach
I take a developmental approach to supervision, meaning I tailor our work to your current stage of growth and experience. I align most closely with the Conceptual Model within developmental frameworks, focusing on helping you progress from dependency toward autonomy and competence.
Some sessions may feel more structure like focusing on skill-building or case conceptualization, while others may be more reflective, centering on your own reactions, emotions, and growth as a therapist.
“Supervision is the holding environment where clinicians learn to hold others.”
— Inspired by Donald Winnicott
Areas of Focus
I specialize in trauma-informed care and work primarily with adults and couples. My background includes:
Complex and developmental trauma
EMDR
Attachment-based and relational approaches
Inner child and parts work (IFS-informed)
Somatic awareness
Integration of faith or meaning-making (when aligned with client values)
Whether you’re seeking guidance on trauma cases, navigating boundaries, or finding your therapeutic voice, supervision with me offers a space to grow with intention and support.
